       Racehorse Retraining & Retirement Fund

This fund will help provide support for the programs which address the growing
problem of the fate of the racehorse once its racing career has ended.

Herb Moelis, president of TCA stated that “the initiative taken by the Jockey Club in instituting a new Foal Registration
check off enables TCA to establish our RRRF program. We now intend to solicit support for this program from
all participants in the Thoroughbred industry including racetracks, race owners, sales companies, etc."

       Eight Belles Memorial Fund

Eight Belles came in second in the 2008 Kentucky Derby
but broke down immediately following the race.

The Eight Belles Memorial Fund was created in response to requests to donate money in Eight Belles honor. Donations to this fund are divided between two of TCA's grant sectors: Thoroughbred retraining for secondary careers and Research Grants to study catastrophic breakdowns to prevent more horses from suffering Eight Belles' fate.

TCA Endowment Fund

Thoroughbred Charities of America received a generous gift of $250,000 from an
anonymous donor to create a permanent Endowment for TCA to assure future grant giving.
Donations may be directed to the TCA Endowment Fund when making tax-deductible gifts.

Donations Through Estate Planning

The Pension Protection Act of 2006 states that in 2006 and 2007 a person over the age of
70 1/2 can donate up to $100,000 from an IRA to Thoroughbred Charities of America and
can exclude the gift from taxable income. The tax benefit, particularly for non-itemizers,
is the ability to exclude the distribution from gross income resulting in potential significant tax savings.
For your estate planning needs you will need to speak to your own attorney or tax consultant.

Donations in Lieu of Flowers

Why not honor someone through a donation to TCA rather than through flowers for birthdays, celebrations,

holidays, or in memoriums? What a perfect way to honor someone by giving happier tomorrows to so many
Thoroughbreds and the people who work with them. Let your thoughtfulness truly by thoughtful!

Donations in Lieu of Birthday Gifts

A Birthday Gift Donation is when the party-giver suggests on the invitation, to donate money to a charity in lieu of
giving a gift to the honored guest. Invitations often say, "No Gifts, Please", only to disappoint those who love to give gifts.
This is an opportunity for the extremely generous, to willingly give up gifts to benefit those who truly are in need.

For Thoroughbred Charities of America, the gratitude of the charities under our "umbrella" cannot be described in words ...
but if you could see the Thoroughbreds transition into their second careers and the faces of the backstretch workers,
mounted handicapped children and scholarship recipients, you would know the joy of giving life.

For children's birthday parties, there could not be a better way to teach children the merits of charity and
the joy of giving, in one perfect and selfless act of kindness. We promise to send them a horse-tale!
