Jack Wolf

                            

Jack Wolf was born on May 4, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky and co-owns Starlight Stables with his wife Laurie.  They split their residences between Saratoga Springs, NY and Sarasota, FL with their two children.

Jack earned a master's degree in economics at Murray State University in southwestern Kentucky, attending on a football scholarship.  He went on to teach for seven years as a graduate assistant at Murray State and at Gainesville College near Atlanta. 

Jack was a hedge fund manager with Columbus Partners in Atlanta who retired to spend more time with his racing interests.  In 2000 Jack and Laurie got into the game at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling sale, buying six horses, among them was a $97,000 "Harlan's Holiday". 

Among the many highlights of Starlight Stables was the sale of Ashado, at a record-setting $9,000,000 in November of 2005.  Ashado was the champion 3-year-old filly of 2004 and champion older filly or mare of 2005, winning 19 of 21 career starts with total earnings of $3,931,440.
